DISAPPOINTING AND NOT WORTH THE VALUE OF MY TIME AND MONEY

My stay with my family at in this hotel,SUNDAY HOSTEL wasn't just DISAPPOINTING but a WASTE OF MONEY, and tormenting too because of the ff reasons: 1.the room stinks... it smells like they use LINIMENT all over the place, the smell was so disgusting that i have to transfer to another room. 2.the ones in charge doesn't have a heart for his job, he didn't care to understand that im already sleeping yet he woke me up at 10:15 pm just to force me to book for the room on line so he can accommodate me with the same price with the same room that my family and i are staying, well in fact I've already booked my first night and had already informed him and his partner assigned in the morning shift that im extending for another day. Should is i till go out in the middle of the night and look for an internet cafe so i could book for the room of which my family are already sleeping? Besides ive already informed them previous day that im extending our stay for another night since the luggage was to heavy for us to look for another place. -internet or on line biking is only good when you are away from the hotel... But if you're are already there, talking to the hotel in charge personally and have already stayed for a night,isn't it valid to say that i want to extend my stay? - though i told him that i don't have an internet, yet still he insisted that he will charge me for an additional of amount of 400.00 based on their room rate. - i haven't change my room, i just requested for an extension only to find out that their rate is different on the my second day of stay though i just used 5 hours on my second day since we arrived at the stinking hotel around 10 pm and have to leave at 3 am the ff day. 3. The in charge refused to issue Official RECEIPT instead he gave me just an acknowledgement receipt. I still have to argue to get the OR. 4.4.

Warm welcome from the staff

Everything was okay apart from the bathroom water. We have to keep complaining about not having water coming out of the shower or the faucet, even the flush is not working. But, even if the water starts working it's really weak. We got so frustrated that our experience with the hostel was very disappointing. I hope they fix the issue to avoid future complaints.

You have to request for the water to function. It will turn off after 30 minutes use. Ang there is no hot shower. No remote control of tv and aircon.

Budget hotel with a nice and friendly staff and the location were really great close to ayala mall.1

Staffs were nice and friendly, the location is great!

There is water interruption , sometimes no water at all. i think because of their under repair of their water system..

it wasn't worth my money.. I will never recommend this hostel to anybody..

the family room was bigger than expected.

most facilities were outdated.no hot & cold shower.several times, the water went off despite telling the staff about the problem.no telephone & cable inside the room yet we were charge as if these were available.the aircon leaked making the dresser & our food stuff in the dresser wet.the door jams & even creaks when opening & closing with no double lock inside.the front desk made us pay the whole full amount of our stay which was 3 days which should not have been so.we could have been made to pay just one night in case we ever wanted to transfer to another hotel.12% vat was implemented which I wasn't aware of when I booked with BOOKING.COM.and they did not honor senior citizens discount.no variety in breakfast served.only bread & cereal.even if free, they can serve eggs or even hot dog.they don't even serve any meals which you can pay for..

What was the highlight of Sunday Hostel

Still enjoyed the stay since the location was near the mall and conference venue.

1. Hospitality and assistance of staffs including the guard. They were all approachable. 2. With elevator and available all the time.

Room cleanliness not good: 1. Condensed water from airconditioning unit drips and scattered on the floor, I almost slipped when I woke up. Requested hostel staff to fix drain of aircon condenser but just placed used towels on wet floor instead. Was not replaced for three days resulting to unpleasant smell. (This was previous comments of guest last 2018 which was not rectified) 2. Linens were quite old and was not replaced during our stay 3. Inadequate housekeeping done only during the 2nd day. Staff just emptied trash bins. 4. Water siphage in one corner of the bathroom portion resulting to wet floor on the toilet bowl area. We need to dry/wiped it with foot towel provided every time somebody took a bath. 5. Clogged lavatory drain 6. Inadequate room lighting 7. Substandard cable of TV set which might result to electrocution since water from ACU was drifting near the outlet. 8. Temperature of the ACU cannot be controlled, thermostat was taped (see picture attached)

Comfy!

The location of the hostel is very strategic since we stayed here during the Sinulog celebration. It is accessible to the road going to the city and back to the activities of the malls. :)

Probably the room has no window. We forgot to make a request of a room with window.

It's my 2nd time in this hostel and I had a lovely stay...

It's my 2nd time in this hostel and I had a lovely stay as always! Staff were great and the place is so homey, location is a plus too! The lobby had a lot of activities and wifi is super fast!

Be sure to manage expectations as they do not offer all amenities and facilities of a hotel, as they brand themselves a hostel. Nonetheless, we had a pleasant experience!

Toilet won't flush.

Toilet won't flush. So inconvenient especially we were 5 stayed in the room and you need to wait for 10-15mins before the toilet can be used by the next person as no enough water can be used for flushing

What was the highlight of Sunday Hostel

Value for Money. Great Location. Secure Place to Stay.

The location is excellent. It is near terminal, malls, restaurants, hospitals, police station, schools etc. It is a secure place to stay both inside and outside premises. The bed is comfortable and the area is spacious. The staff are accommodating. The hotel is clean though building design is outdated but really just okay for the price we paid.

I think they have fixed their issues with water supply but still has to improve. They do not have a telephone line per room for us to contact them if ever we will need their assistance. We still need to go down to inform the receptionist. The aircon for standard room has to be changed or cleaned regularly to allow a good cooling temperature.
